Rooted in tradition. Trained for today. Ready to teach.

A yoga teacher training should do more than give you a certification. It should prepare you to actually teach.

At Jupiter Yoga, our 200- and 300-hour Yoga Teacher Trainings combine the roots and classical teachings of yoga with the practical, real-world skills needed to teach in today’s yoga studios.

Led by Shelby Hunzinger, E-RYT 500, YACEP, who has been leading teacher trainings in the Jupiter community for nearly a decade, this program is built on a simple philosophy: understand where yoga comes from, develop a strong personal practice, and learn how to translate that knowledge into classes people want to take.

You’ll study yoga beyond the poses, philosophy, history, anatomy, alignment, breath, meditation, subtle body, Sanskrit, sequencing, teaching methodology, and the foundations of Ashtanga Yoga, while also learning how to confidently teach the styles you’ll encounter in the modern yoga industry.

From Ashtanga and Vinyasa to Power, Sculpt, Yin and Restorative, you’ll learn how different styles are built, why they work, and how to teach them safely, intelligently, and authentically.

But knowing yoga and knowing how to teach yoga are two different things.

That’s why teaching is a major part of this training. You’ll practice cueing, sequencing, demonstrating, holding space, working with different bodies and experience levels, giving hands-on assists, finding your voice, and confidently leading a room.

You won’t wait until graduation to figure out how to teach.

You’ll teach during training. You’ll receive feedback. You’ll refine your skills. And you’ll graduate with experience.

Jupiter Yoga Teacher Training also has a proven track record. Graduates of these trainings are teaching throughout our local yoga community, and several have gone on to open studios of their own.

The goal isn’t simply to add RYT after your name.

The goal is for you to leave understanding yoga, knowing how to teach it, and possessing the versatility and confidence to walk into an audition, teach a private client, create your own class, or step into a studio ready to teach.

Email Shelby Hunzinger to sign up, or with any questions.

Teacher Training Is Not Just for Future Teachers

You don't have to know that you want to teach yoga to benefit from teacher training.

Some students enter training knowing they want to stand at the front of a room. Others simply love being students and want to understand the practice on an entirely different level.

Teacher training gives you the opportunity to move beyond following a class and begin understanding why the practice works.

You'll study the history and philosophy behind yoga, better understand anatomy and alignment, explore breath and meditation, learn how sequences are constructed, and develop the knowledge to create a personal practice that belongs to you.

For some students, that journey leads to teaching.

For others, it creates a deeper, more independent relationship with yoga.

Both are reasons to train.

Build a Home Yoga Practice

One of the most valuable skills you can develop during yoga teacher training is the ability to practice without needing someone else to lead you.

As your understanding of anatomy, alignment, sequencing, breath, meditation and philosophy develops, so does your ability to make informed decisions about your own practice.

Instead of asking, "What class should I take today?" you begin developing the knowledge to ask, "What does my practice need today?"

Teacher training gives you the tools to continue exploring yoga at home, in the studio and throughout your life, whether or not you ever choose to teach professionally.

Learn With Shelby Hunzinger

Jupiter Yoga Teacher Training is led by Shelby Hunzinger, E-RYT 500, YACEP, owner of Jupiter Yoga.

Yoga Teacher Training

Do I have to want to teach yoga to take teacher training?

No. Teacher training can be just as valuable for dedicated yoga students who want to deepen their practice. You'll study philosophy, anatomy, alignment, sequencing, meditation, breath and other areas of yoga that aren't always possible to explore during a regular studio class. You'll also develop the knowledge to build a more informed personal and home practice.

What is the difference between the 200-Hour and 300-Hour Yoga Teacher Training?

The 200-Hour training establishes your foundation. It is designed to deepen your personal practice while introducing yoga philosophy, anatomy, sequencing, teaching methodology and the practical skills needed to begin teaching.

The 300-Hour advanced training builds on a previous 200-Hour education. Trainees refine their teaching voice, deepen their study of philosophy and anatomy, develop advanced teaching and assisting skills, explore private instruction and study the Ashtanga Primary Series in greater depth.

Will I actually practice teaching?

Yes. Teaching experience is an important part of Jupiter Yoga Teacher Training. You'll practice cueing, sequencing, demonstrating, working with different students, holding space and leading a room. You'll receive feedback throughout training so you can continue refining your skills before graduation.

What styles of yoga will I learn to teach?

The training explores both traditional foundations and styles commonly found in modern yoga studios. These include Ashtanga, Vinyasa, Power, Yoga Sculpt, Yin and Restorative Yoga.

Rather than simply memorizing individual class formats, you'll learn how different styles are structured, why they work and how to teach them intelligently and authentically.

Who leads Jupiter Yoga Teacher Training?

Training is led by Shelby Hunzinger, E-RYT 500, YACEP, owner of Jupiter Yoga. Shelby has taught yoga for more than a decade and has led yoga teacher trainings in the Jupiter community for nearly a decade.

Can teacher training help me develop a home yoga practice?

Yes. Developing the knowledge and confidence to practice independently is one of the benefits of deeper yoga study. Understanding anatomy, alignment, sequencing, philosophy, breath and meditation allows you to make more informed choices about your own practice rather than always depending on a teacher to create it for you.

When does the next teacher training begin?

The next Jupiter Yoga 200-Hour and 300-Hour Yoga Teacher Trainings begin in September 2026. Contact Jupiter Yoga for the final calendar, meeting times and application information.

Where is the training held?

Teacher training is held at Jupiter Yoga at 590 US Highway 1 in Tequesta, Florida, just minutes from Jupiter.

What experience do I need before applying?

You don't need an advanced physical practice or the ability to perform complicated poses. Teacher training is an educational experience. A genuine interest in yoga, willingness to study and commitment to the program matter far more than performing advanced asana.

What can I do after graduating?

Graduates who pursue teaching can use their education to prepare for studio auditions, teach group classes, work with private clients and begin developing their own classes and teaching style. Jupiter Yoga Teacher Training graduates are already teaching throughout the local yoga community, and several graduates have gone on to open yoga studios of their own.
